Organic green tea from Japan
The noble Genmaicha comes from the Shizuoka Prefecture on the main island of Honshu. The region is known as the center of the Japanese tea trade. The special soil composition, coupled with a unique climate, characterizes this region and allows the plants to thrive. The basis for Genmaicha is a particularly high-quality, small-leaf green tea – in contrast to the more simple, large-leaf Bancha varieties commonly used for Genmaicha. The brown rice is roasted with the utmost care, ensuring not a single grain pops. This care is ultimately noticeable in the cup: a bright green cup color and highly aromatic notes. On the palate, the contrasting flavors of fresh green tea and the sweet, nutty notes of the roasted rice combine to create a successful combination.
