At "Otto Ettari," the name says it all. It stands for eight hectares of vineyards in Montecucco, a region located south of Brunello di Montalcino and boasting the finest terroir. The name also represents the lifelong dream of two wine lovers and their newfound love of Sangiovese. Cousins Manfred and Andreas Kunert traveled extensively in Tuscany until 2014 when they acquired their land from Ciacci Piccolominid'Aragona – one of Tuscany's most outstanding and historic wineries. Manfred Kunert previously preferred Bordeaux, especially Margaux and Sain-Émilion. But a wine trip to Tuscany stunned him and his cousin Andreas. The duo from Germany fell in love with the country and its people – and, of course, with Sangiovese.
Tasting notes
A very youthful, red berry aroma with light and dark cherry notes, freshly picked red and blue berries, and a lovely background note of violet and iris. In the mouth, it's once again incredibly grippy, present, and engaging; the delicate red fruits are mouthwatering, a very pleasant flow, once again with a delicate character and still grippy tannins.
