Corryvreckan Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey
Regular price CHF 109.00Corryvreckan is named after Europe's largest ocean whirlpool. It is located near the Hebridean islands of Islay and Jura on the west coast of Scotland. Non-chill-filtered and with 57.1% ABV, Corryvreckan epitomizes Islay's untamed character.
Intoxicating, intense, and powerful. Immerse yourself in the depths of aromas of tarry rope and linseed oil, dark wax chocolate, warm black currants, and muscovado sugar, while plump cherries and earthy pine needles leap from its depths. On the tongue, peppery notes blend with strong espresso and seaweed. Rich dark chocolate and dark fruits round out this taste experience.
Ardbeg Corryvreckan
The origins of this popular distillery on the island of Islay date back to 1794. At that time, however, it was operated as an illegal distillery by bootleggers. After a customs raid, however, it was forced to close. In 1815, the distillery was finally purchased by John McDougall and officially opened under the name Ardbeg. The distillery's eventful history is rich in changes of ownership and includes several closures. In 1997, it was purchased by Glenmorangie plc, which was finally acquired by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) in 2004, to which Ardbeg remains to this day.
