Silver has always been the precious metal that brought great wealth to the Tyrolean towns of Schwaz and Sterzing. Silver was mined in vast quantities in the surrounding mountains. Families like the Fugger family made European history with it. This likely inspired the idea of distilling a gin that, in addition to classic aromatic spices (nutmeg, lavender, aniseed, gentian root, lemon peel, orange peel, cinnamon sticks, cloves) and juniper, rowanberries, and cranberries in the macerate, was also refined with silver leaf. Compared to PIZ 47, it is somewhat lighter and more citrus-focused, but the distillation process is the same.
