The Kümin family has been operating viticulture and wine trading in Freienbach since 1902, now in its fourth generation. Our family business, with 20 employees, is passionately committed to the quality of our products every day. This is how we create regional, quality wines with character from our traditional vineyards around Upper Lake Zurich and in Quinten. Our vineyards are cultivated and pressed on our own vines. Treat yourself to a moment of peace and enjoy our region.
The vineyard
Rapperswil's Schlossberg is the natural continuation of the rocky outcrop of the Leutschen and Ufnau mountains. The sunny south-facing slope was first mentioned in 981: "Berchtold von Breitenveld donated the Endingen vineyard, located southwest at the very tip of the promontory, to the Einsiedeln monastery." Nestled within old walls between the Capuchin monastery and the castle, the vineyard, which originated from a community of inheritance, became the property of the city of Rapperswil in 1955. Since 1969, the Kümin company has been responsible for the vineyard's care. The steep south-facing slope, the nutrient-rich molasse soil, and the mild maritime climate allow grapes with high Oechsle degrees to ripen here.
