At "Otto Ettari," the name says it all. It stands for eight hectares of vineyards in Montecucco, a region located south of Brunello di Montalcino and boasting the finest terroir. The name also represents the lifelong dream of two wine lovers and their newfound love for Sangiovese. Cousins Manfred and Andreas Kunert traveled extensively in Tuscany until 2014 when they acquired their land from Ciacci Piccolominid'Aragona – one of Tuscany's most renowned and historic wineries. Manfred Kunert previously preferred Bordeaux, especially Margaux and Sain-Émilion. But a wine trip to Tuscany together stunned him and his cousin Andreas. The duo from Germany fell in love with the country and its people – and, of course, with Sangiovese.
Tasting notes
A fresh, red berry aroma with crisp cherry notes, with a delicate spicy reduction note in the background. Elegant and engaging on the palate, the impression of juicy, fresh berries blends skillfully with floral and spicy notes. A very pleasant flow with a delicate, accentuated finish.
