Himalayan salt shaker fine

Finely ground, natural crystal salt with a mild aroma. Free from additives and processed entirely by hand. Mined by a cooperative in northern Pakistan since 1999 and refined into VitaSal Himalayan salt in Varanasi, India.

In northern Pakistan, at the foothills of the Himalayas, lies the Salt Range, a salt mountain range that's up to 500 million years old. Our crystal salt—also known as rock salt—is mined in this mountain range, where the Himalayan massif once formed from the deposits of the primordial oceans.

From Pakistan, the large lumps of salt are transported by train to the “salt village” of Danyalpur in Varanasi, India, where they are further processed.

The typical light pink color of rock salt indicates its rich trace element content. We maintain its crystalline structure through manual processing.
