type red wine
Origin Spain / Ribera del Duero
Expansion From over 100-year-old vines and a yield of just 2,500 kg per hectare, the grapes are harvested by hand in 15 kg crates. Only a few grapes are destemmed; most find their way into the fermentation tank as whole bunches. The wine is aged for 26 months in new French barriques and then ages for a further three years in the bottle before release.
Serving temperature 15-17°C
Alcohol content 14.5%
grape variety Tempranillo
Fits This Tempranillo is an ideal accompaniment to hard cheeses and spicy, grilled meats and vegetables. Its aromas are reminiscent of dark cherries and cocoa, with a fruity, melting finish.

After 20 years of experience in the Ribera del Duero, the two Navarro Balbás brothers founded the Nabal winery in the heart of the region, in Gumiel de Izán. Ribera del Duero is a very diverse region in terms of topography and soil, with a hot, continental climate, but with sufficient rainfall of 400 to 600 mm per year. In 2012, the region was voted the best wine region in the world by Wine Enthusiast. Tempranillo dominates the vineyards. Star oenologist Oscar Navarro enjoys a beautiful, church-like wine cellar. Wine tourism is also available upon request.

Tasting notes

Aromas of ripe, dark cherries and blueberries, delicate licorice, and roasted cocoa. A very complex and powerful palate, with ripe and round tannins and plenty of fruity texture. A long, aromatic finish with subtle roasted aromas.
