Subject to change of vintage!
His Vértice Branco, grown at this altitude, combines all the qualities of Burgundy wines. In true French tradition, the wines are fermented and aged in French oak barrels.
The Vértice Tinto, Gran Reserva, is an extremely complex, aromatic, perfectly cultivated wine with fine tannins and aromas of coconut and chocolate. This wine also appeals to younger wine lovers who may not yet be so keen on Douro wine. "Vértice" in Portuguese means "the hill" from which there is no further ascent. A somewhat self-conscious assessment for this wine.
About Celso Pereira
One person who creates white and red table wines with great enthusiasm is Celso Pereira. At 500 meters above sea level, he has spent years testing cultivation methods with local winegrowers. These winemakers still deliver the best grape quality at the right time. Everything is monitored and determined by their own consultants.
Immediately after harvest, the grapes are cooled and gently pressed the following day. Celso believes that each grape fraction should be treated differently during fermentation. Therefore, he stores the grapes separately in small tanks. The wines are then recombined into a cuvée after malolactic fermentation.
